China Harbor Seafood Restaurant at Solomons was recently voted the best Chinese Restaurant in the 1995 Best of Calvert County contest sponsored by The Recorder.
“It was very difficult starting a restaurant of a different culture, but I really love Solomons Island; and I’ve made a lot of friends; and they always make me feel welcome,” said restaurant owner Yvonne Lee.
Originally from Taipei, Lee missed her family’s cooking. When she started the restaurant, she established a menu of traditional Chinese foods combined with American fare based on her family’s philosophy of using the very freshest foods available. “ I don’t use any MSG,” said Lee.
“My mother always tells me I’m not a business woman, but I am only doing what I believe in,” she said.
“Whatever you want I don’t thin China Harbor can disappoint you.”
